The Converse merchandising team obsesses our consumer needs and are industry leaders in creating the right product mix in the marketplace across the globe. They blend art with science to bring the Converse vision to life in our physical and digital retail environments to ensure a premium category consumer experience.

The Global Merchandising Operations, Planning and Analytics team works closely with cross-functional partners to support and enable both Global and Geography Merchandising teams through the management and ongoing development of key processes, systems and tools, as well as providing strategic, operational and tactical support throughout key milestones in the Gameplan. The team is forward oriented, leveraging digital tools and process innovation to drive efficiency and effectiveness across our function, maximizing our impact on the marketplace.

As the Senior Manager of the Global Merchandising Operations you play a pivotal role in the broader team. You lead, guide and develop a team of Merchandising Information Coordinators (MICs), with responsibility for the management and governance of merchandising related line plan and assortment data across both product creation and assortment visualization systems, working closely with Brand Merchandising and cross-functional stakeholders on an everyday basis

In addition, you encourage system and process development, being a key contributor to the Converse roadmap in this space as well as enabling and encouraging Merchandising excellence across global and geo teams. You are on point for the further development and roll of our assortment visualization platform, providing our global and geo teams with a digitally enabled way of working, as well as the ongoing evolution of our product creation systems.

Across all of the above you act as a change agent, working closely with both Global and Geography Merchandising teams as well as cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen operational and process excellence within and outside the function and explore new and more effective ways of working where appropriate. To the end you establish close and collaborative working relationships with key partners both within and outside Merchandising.

You report into the Director Global Merchandising Operations, Planning and Analytics.



Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or additional 2 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including comprehensive background as a business / operations / process leader (preferably in a Product, Merchandising, Retail or Buying context) as well as demonstrated experience in leading teams
  • Excellent team player, able to establish and guide cross-functional partnerships
  • Solution oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and evolve
  • Ability to work in a self-guided manner, while balancing multiple priorities at once and meet tight deadlines
  • Tolerance for ambiguity
  • Affinity for creativity and enabling technologies
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint (experience with product creation or assortment visualization systems is a plus)
